IMG_0316IMG_0317These are the inquisitive faces that I have to answer to if I come home from work and then, oh, need to run some errands.  Tonight, it was Trader Joes for groceries for the week, and in my defense, I had been home for a good few hours before venturing out again.  But still, always the guilt trip.  Best buds, sitting next to each other, staring at me – but we’ve been alone almost all day long, and now you are leaving without me again?  Well – Cashew is starting to look distracted with something else, but still – sitting together like that with the original look, I wished that I had the good camera handy and around my neck but didn’t want to jinx it because the second I’d move to get it is the second that the pose would be gone.

Nothing big today.  Glad that it’s Thursday, which means that tomorrow is Friday!  Actually, today I found that the metropolitan cooking show is going on this weekend, and I really want to go, but I’m not sure how it’s going to fit in just yet.  It’s Nick’s last weekend at home before SC 2009, so I think we both were hoping for some down time, but alas, we’ve got a busy (and fun!) weekend ahead.

Cashew certainly has the right idea today- what I wouldn’t give to have taken a cat nap on my computer this afternoon!

Instead, Pinot and I had an exciting run around the neighborhood and close to home. Actually started online window shopping for the holidays while dinner was in the oven- twice baked potatoes take awhile! These pictured are Nicks- mine are sans pepperoni; both have a mixture of white and sweet potatoes with random veggies (celery, onion, garlic, carrot, parsnip, and spinach).

On that note- I for one am going to try to get to sleep early tonight!

Right up until the deadline to pull out the camera and get some pictures this year – this is Pinot the Pumpkin’s entry into the contest. (Voting starts on Friday – and she’d love your vote )

Cashew is not sad that she can’t go to dog daycare, but she is a bit upset that she wasn’t allowed to enter the contest. Alas, she’s taking her anger and frustration out on the grass she got for her birthday this year.

Awash, I have missed this.

Well… I thought this was a picture of Pinot slobbering nick in bed tonight, but I guess I missed the reunion moment. :-P

Nice to have the kids back in tow:)

Aw, so cute. I think the girls want a screen door of their own.

Thank you so much to my mom for watching the ladies while we’re on our trip! Rainy trip to the ROC today, but nothing some chocolate almond ice cream from don & bobs and a husker victory couldn’t fix! I love fall weekends when we are all decked out in game day red:)

Sooooo nice to be home this weekend. I slept in this morning, did my 5 mile run with Nick, watched a movie and some college football, ran an errand or two… Including getting our Europe backpacks out of storage, I think cashew wants to make the trip with us.

Tonight we hit up the husker bar in dc to kick off the season with a win! Go big red!

Cashew helped:)

photoMuch more reflective of Nick’s morning than my own (thank goodness) – Cashew has, it seems, been playing a literal game of cat and mouse this morning.  Nick’s quick camera skills, so early this AM, were taken before she released her prey only to begin the chase once again.

How wierd is it that there is a mouse in our house, when – other than Cashew – we’ve never seen any evidence of one?  Does this mean we have more?  Where are they coming from – we’re on the 3rd floor for heavens sake!

Let me reiterate again – ew, ew, ew.  And since NJ took off early this morning, I wonder if this means Cashew will be leaving me a present when I get home from work.  Gross.  (How bad would it be if I waited for my manly husband to come home and take care of it for me?)

On a brighter note, for me anyway – YAY to someone bringing tomatoes in to work this morning!  It makes getting here early all the more worth it – yum!
