NJ and I are getting pretty good at tire changing on route 15 – props to whomever gave this road a wide shoulder! Pinot and Cashew are not too concerned, and the two of us are glad that this donut went on in the sun (not in the rain in the dark, like last time). Always an adventure to get back to reality!

I am not ready to re-enter the real world, and luckily today is a gorgeous day and I’ve barely thought about it. Lots of sun, water fun, biking up rt 14 to the fox run garlic festival, ice cream at mr twistees… And it’s not 4:15 yet:)

Well… We probably should have done this yesterday considering what a wet and rainy morning we had today, but hooray! Our bonfire is catching now:)

Slightly sunburned, an overcast day is welcome after boat excursions yesterday. Today we eat the 3rd quarter of the top tier of our wedding cake, preserved remarkably well in the freezer. My how time flies. To a great many more!

Today has been an amazing day for renting the cottage.  The honeymoon couple that found me last year contacted me today to rent for a weekend this fall.  I had another request for a week in late September that confirmed this afternoon.  And another of our return customers from last fall has requested a weekend in September as well!

I’m totally excited – and only a little bit bummed that we won’t be able to go to the cottage when we’re in NY next – because it’s rented!  boo-yah!!  :D

Did I mention that Amanda and Dan got married in the Finger Lakes? Yep, only 35 minutes from the cabin, so we had a little mini cabin retreat this weekend – complete with plenty of relaxing time on the dock, Pinot can swim, and doggie sundaes. Good stuff. And – we are done traveling for a few weeks! Yay!

This was the best weekend ever. Attempting to blog about it will not do it justice, so I’ll just show the picture from the wine tour and if you’d really like more detail, ask to see the scrapbook page.

Aaaaah, relaxing…

We got to the cottage around midnight on Thursday, and went a little crazy with streamers. Headed up to Rochester on Friday for some Lilac Festival action (I love lilacs!!!) and the slight suggestion that maybe we should go to the cottage on Saturday night. Somehow, everyone managed to get to the cottage before we arrived at 11:45 AM on Saturday and she didn’t know or suspect a thing, despite her random daughter Colleen suggesting that maybe she should put on this blindfold. It’s been much too long since everyone has gotten together like this – lots of pictures in the album to the left, but a random sampling of weekend photos in this post! So tired, and thirsty, and full, but great great weekend to kick off the summer.

I thought the cabin trip was pretty kicking cool this year – couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better group of people! :D We hope you all had a great time too.

All of the pictures are up online here.

This is just the quick first cut at the Photoshop – I realize I need to work with the shadows a bit more!

Thanks for everyone who came – hope to see you again next year!
